You may have noticed a few changes to the website since you last visited. Some features of WordPress are free, which is so amazing. I’m grateful for programs like this that help me show my work, without charging me up the wall. Unfortunately, there are some premium features that I am unable to access at the moment. The issues with that didn’t seem to appear until recently, so I had to change the set up of most pages. Take a look and let me know what you think. As always, thanks for being here!
New Hampshire Primary 1.3.24
I was assigned to create a graphic to be used as a featured image for our news station’s website. It is intended to be simple, but still grab a readers attention. We want folks to click on our page and read what we have to say. We want them to be engaged in our content. Hopefully, this gets our message across!
Homeward Bound 3.17.23
Homeward Bound is a song that has popped up in my life in so many different situations. It may be a coincidence, but it happens to mean a lot to me. We sang it in the church choir, we sang it in school chorus, and I decided it was a perfect fit for my virtual concert. I chose images of the family and friends I was coming home to. It was a great match.
New Years Resolutions 1.1.24
New Years Resolutions are the worst. Usually, they fizzle out within just a few weeks of starting them. In my experience, it’s usually less than that if I even set them at all. I am documenting my resolutions as a way to hopefully keep myself accountable.
Some of my goals are specific, but some are pretty vague. I’ve noticed that when I set sights too high, I end up completely giving up rather than at least trying. I don’t necessarily need to take 10,000 steps a day. But I should walk more! I think I’ve given myself some reasonable expectations. Here’s a look at what I plan to do this year.
- Post to my portfolio once a week, at minimum. That is 52+ posts.
- Post to YouTube once a month, at a minimum. That is 12+ videos.
- Spend less money on dumb stuff. Stop ordering from cheap websites. Only buy things I need. We want to travel and move this year. We need to start saving.
- Improve my diet. I don’t intend to cut out everything I enjoy. However, I definitely need a bit more balance. More water, less soda. More vegetables, less junk.
- Exercise more. Since I’ve gotten a desk job, it has been difficult to keep myself physically active.
These may seem like very simple goals however, any progress is still progress. I hope everybody has a wonderful 2024!
Round & Round 3.17.23
Round and Round was so much fun. I love to sing, but I thoroughly enjoy the editing aspect too! It’s so much fun to see what I can create with just my voice and some buttons. This is the first song I’ve used that amount of auto tune, effects, and other stuff like that. At times it feels a bit silly, hearing my voice but in a fake way. However, it totally matches the vibe of the song.
I recorded this song for the virtual concert and I’m so glad I got to include it. Thanks for listening!
Long Black Veil 3.17.23
Another installed to the virtual concert back in May! I heard this song from Mac McHale and the Old Time Radio Gang starting from when I was very little. They were a great band to see and I’m very grateful I got to hear them so many times before Mac McHale passed away several years ago. They performed this song fairly often and I rediscovered it when my friend David Young posted a cover of him singing it. I love this song so much and I’m so glad I got a chance to sing it. I recorded it back in 202, but decided to redo it for the concert.
Ring of Fire 2.22.23
I recorded this song last February after watching the Ring of Fire movie. It was stuck in my head for DAYS! I had to sing it myself. I still listen to this song quite a lot. I added this song to the virtual concert I shared in May.
Ramblin’ Man 11.16.19
This song is so much fun to sing! I recorded this such a long time ago. Listening back to older songs I’ve done makes me realize how much I’ve grown and improved. If only my technology would upgrade soon!
Danny Boy 12.4.22
Do you ever post something and then completely forget it even happened? I recorded and posted Danny Boy just over a year ago and it totally slipped my mind that it was even on my YouTube page. This is a quick recording, but still a very sweet tune. I hope you enjoy!
Faith Decorating for Christmas 12.03.23
A group of folks from Faith stayed late one Sunday and had an impromptu decorating session throughout the church. I decided to film some of it in hopes to get a cute video. I think I succeeded! Enjoy some holiday cheer with lots of laughter and goofiness.
