Do you ever get the feeling if you don’t sing something RIGHT NOW you’ll explode? That happens to me quite often and it’s been so hard to skip recording these moments. Usually, if I have a song scratching the right part, I’ll just go home and record it. I love that process. Without a functioning recording device, it’s been a bit tougher during those moments. I figured, I might as well share a small clip of a song that has been scratching my brain lately. Here’s part of Cody Johnson’s The Painter.
Songs My Mother Taught Me ~ 2016
My computer is still broken, so here’s another song from the vault. I performed this song on Mother’s Day in 2016. I loved making music with David Hansen, especially on holidays. He could always come up with something special and something that would be a good challenge. I’m grateful for all the musical experiences I had with him. Happy Mother’s Day to mom’s of all kinds.
Caffeine Bears
I have been in a slump lately. With my laptop breaking and being so busy, I’ve been neglecting the artistic side of me. Thankfully, other people’s posts inspire me to create something. Today, I’m grateful that my chosen momma shared a post that was just too funny for me to scroll past.

For those who may not know, a Rush is an energizin’ drink from a New England staple, Aroma Joe’s. They’re one of my favorites and the question she wrote was too relatable! To my knowledge, there is no rush bear. But there is now! I’m introducing, what I’d like to call Caffeine Bears. Check this out!

The Rush Bear (left) is for Momma, who chooses a red raspberry, peach, and pomegranate rush on the regular. She calls it, The Trap House Princess. Momma shimmers and she deserves a bear who does too.
The Dunks Bear (right) is one I created for myself, as I’m a Dunkin girlie at heart and I’m not quite as shimmery as Momma. I’m just a kid from Maine who loves orange, Dunkin, and I own way too much camouflage.
I hope you’ve enjoyed my creation of the Caffeine Bears. Maybe I’ll continue this series, because I think it’s hilarious.

Hole in Eyeball 2.28.24

What do you do when you get a message like this? You make a graphic out of it. Am I going to give anymore context to this? Absolutely not. In honor of my best friend graduating with her master’s degree today, enjoy her prompt!

Caller of the Week 1.4.24
Our news station’s producer requested a new featured image for our long running contest, Caller of the Week. The old graphic was fine, but a bit outdated. I wanted to modernize the image and still have a professional look, as it is for the news station. After a bit of brainstorming, trial and error, this is the image I finished with.
Phone numbers blurred out for privacy of the station.
Broken Heart and Equipment
Okay, that title may be a little dramatic, but I’m still super bummed! The laptop I do my recordings on has finally met its bitter end. My trusty Macbook Air from 2015 has reached retirement. It doesn’t hold a charge and can’t run any recording applications without instantly shutting down; always before I have a chance to hit save. It’s time for a new computer. HOWEVER. I’m broke. There’s not much I can do for now until I save up a bit more money, but unfortunately there are other things that will have to take priority over that. So, for the time being, new songs are going to be on hold. I’m absolutely gutted. I was so thrilled to be getting back into the groove of music again. I probably won’t be able to stick to my New Year’s Resolution of posting as much as I wanted to. Hopefully, I’ll have a new computer soon, but it doesn’t seem likely. For now, I hope you still enjoy the graphics I’ll be creating and the prompts I’ll be writing.
Thanks for reading my rant!
Harmony Fest 2025
Sometimes getting inspiration for new designs is difficult. We’re in a bit of a lull at work, so I haven’t gotten much for new assignments lately. I decide to give AI generators a try. I used ChatGPT to get a new design prompt. Here’s what it said:
Here’s a simple graphic design prompt for you:
Prompt: “Create a minimalist poster for a fictional music festival called ‘Harmony Fest’. The festival celebrates diversity in music genres with artists from around the world. Include abstract musical elements like notes or instruments to represent the fusion of cultures and sounds.”
Feel free to interpret and design this prompt in any way you like!
Using an AI prompt was a great way to get a new idea, while somewhat feeling like it was an assignment. I have trouble coming up with stuff from scratch, so it’s nice being told what to do, haha. I created a bunch of fake artists, dates, and links, to make sure it’s clear that this is not a real event. Here is my Harmony Fest 2025 Poster!

Music From 207 1.10.24
I spend a lot of time talking about the highlights of my job and this post is no exception. This job has given me the chance to apply my knowledge of what I learned in school. That aspect to me is baffling. Today is another day where I haven’t used the quadratic formula, but I have logged into Adobe four times already.
One of our stations is rebranding a little. My coworkers and I have been helping create new graphics for the website. One of the segments that is getting a makeover is called Music From 207. This is all about Maine music. This is the graphic I designed, with very little direction. I impressed myself with this image if I ‘m being completely honest. I knew I wanted something cozy, like Maine is. The most important part, as always, is the music.
Catch up while I’m away!
You may have noticed that my posts haven’t been as frequent lately. That’s because I’m on vacation! It’s been a while since Tommas and I have gotten away, besides all the moving we did last year. It’s nice to be able to breathe and get a nice change of scenery for a bit. Here’s a tiny preview.

There will be a vacation recap video coming up eventually with new music! For now, I hope you take this time to catch up on some old videos and posts you may not have seen. Here’s a few to get you started!

Dylan Scott 11.30.23
One of the fun things about working in radio is the events I get to go to; and some I get paid to go to! At the end of November, I was asked to work at the Dylan Scott concert. The best part was that I could bring a guest with me. I was stoked to be able to bring my friend, Jane, with me. I was tasked with bringing the station van there, hand out posters, play music, and get folks HYPED to be there. Note: I made the posters we handed out. Jane met me at the office, we grabbed a bite to eat, then we went to the venue. I don’t know if the guests were hyped, but Jane and I definitely were.
When we got there, people were already lined up at the door with their tickets. We started playing music out of the van and gathered our posters to hand out. I think the people were a little confused at first as to who we were and why we were handing them things. It was awkward at first. After a few rounds of handing out posters, my boss, Jon, showed up. He grabbed a stack of posters and started handing them out as well. He didn’t give them a choice. He was pushing them! I took by his example and started practically throwing the posters at people. By the time the show doors opened, we were flying through the stack of posters. It was great seeing people get so excited about the show as the time got closer. I went up to the box office to get our tickets. Turns out, we also got access for the Meet and Greet! The excitement only grew. Once all the posters were gone, we packed and locked up the van. It was show time!
Jane and I headed in to enjoy the show. There is something about entering the venue that is indescribable. The excitement and nerves rolled into one; it’s exhilarating. We walked around and grabbed some soda while the opening acts started. It’s tough finding “just the right spot” in a venue like that. Finally, we made our way up to the balcony and found some seats in a great area. The show was incredible! The musicians did a fantastic job, the lights were so cool.
During one of the earlier songs, everyone was holding up the posters and Dylan noticed. After the song ended, one of them was handed to him on stage. Someone had changed the I to MILFS so the poster read, “MILFS ❤ Dylan!” It was so funny and I was so honored to see him holding one of the posters that I made!
When the show was over, we made our way down to the Meet and Greet line. The rules were a bit strict which was kind of a bummer, but we understood why they have to do it that way. We were able to get one item signed and get a professional photo taken. Jane had Dylan sign one of the posters and I had him sign my station hat. I got a chance to tell him I made the posters and he thanked me for doing it!
Here are some pictures from that night:
